If you are wanting to improve your skills and photographic knowledge prior to a special holiday, take advantage of one of these short workshops. Photography and Camera Tuition Enhancing your holiday experience. Your images are the valuable visual record of where you have traveled, what you experienced and how you felt. Once you are home again they are the best way to re-live your experience and share these with family and friends. Take control of your camera with Photo Safaris New Zealand. This is for all levels of photography, using any brand of SLR camera, you can book direct via e-mail, and payment is at the end of the experience. Five Hour Photo Safari tour in a 4WD, NZ$280pp, minimum of 2 students, and a maximum pf 4 per tutor/vehicle. The Photographic Safari provides: Pick-up and drop-off  at any  accommodation in Queenstown. (Let us know where you are staying, allow 5-10 minutes for pick up). Use of Canon 400D cameras, (unless you have your own DSLR). An SLR camera allows you to have full manual control. We teach you to take them off fully automatic and understand why... It’s knowing what to do, when to do it and why that counts. Use of Manfroto tripod’s, filters and other Canon lenses. Including 60mm Macro, 10-20 mm wide, 70-300mm telephoto. Cdrom of your images and photographic notes for you. Afternoon tea and muffin supplied.

      Summer 1st October - 31st March,
         1pm - 6pm approximately, later if there is a group of 4.

       Winter 1st April - 31st September,
         12.00 Noon, Safari till 5pm.

• Paradise Valley -Operates all year around.  50 minutes drive from Queenstown through Glenorchy.
  
  Every trip is different and the images we make are dependant on the weather and light on the day. There is not such thing as bad weather.
  
  You can photograph wide open vistas, enchanting streams and creeks that wind through the valley floor and ancient forests with their wealth of macro photography opportunities. This is the land of ‘Lord of the Rings’.

• Skippers Canyon - Not available in winter. Here the landscape is ruggedly spectacular. A narrow road built by early Chinese miners winds down into what was a rich gold mining area. Once home to thousands of miners and their families all that remains is a beautifully restored school house and the weathered and sculptured landforms produced by the sluicing. Stopping along the way at the Shotover river and the bridge, this makes for an exciting trip. Best in the Autumn.

• 8 hour mini Photo Workshop - 3 to 4 people NZ$340pp. Four wheel drive vehicle available. Lunch supplied. This product is tailor made to the students requirements. It can cover portraiture, landscape, travel photography, studio lighting or just go through all the basics.
  
  The big difference being you have available the opportunity to download your images and have them individually critiqued through out the day.

• One to One tuition -NZ$100 per hour.
  Let Jackie know what you want to learn. If you don’t have the opportunity to take a Photo Safari ( minimum two people) then this is another alternative.
  
  If learning about your digital camera and composition is your priority then staying closer to Queenstown and having one to one tuition is the answer. Photography notes supplied.
